Christine's story

I have enjoyed being a guest at GP for the past 15 years. I have suffered with back problems including slipped discs and fractured spine for 14 years. The pain has been very bad on and off, at times causing me to give up jobs.

Since March of this year I have experienced the worst pain. I have had to use a walking stick for balance and because my legs suddenly become very weak. I was taking painkillers every day and spent many hours crying, depressed, and trying to face up to the reality that things were getting worse.

My mother-in-law had booked to spend a few days at GP in September. I desperately wanted to join her but I was out of work and had no money. Yet I knew I would be going, deep in my heart. Slowly over a period of just a few weeks there was much in my daily bible readings about healing and I knew the Lord was speaking directly to me. He could heal me anywhere and at any time and yet I felt that it would be at GP.
A very gracious Christian and dear friend handed me the money to pay for my stay. That to me was confirmation that the Lord was going to do a great work in my body. I phoned to book immediately!

At GP there is a Healing Service held every Thursday evening. I was looking forward to it. On the Wednesday the Lord showed me that I would be prayed for and what would be said. After the Healing Service I stayed behind for prayer. It was exactly as the Lord showed me. There was no change in my condition that night.

On the following morning I awoke expecting to be healed. The pain was still there although not as bad. My stay was over in GP but I was extending my stay in Bournemouth with my mother. My mother-in-law was returning home. So with case-on-wheels in one hand and my walking stick in the other I limped up to the coach to wave my mother-in-law off.
After, as I walked over to the bus stop I suddenly realised I didn't need my walking stick. I wasn't in pain either. The Lord had taken my pain away and strengthened my back.
God has been so gracious to me. Indeed He is the Great Physician, the Great Healer. Some people wonder if God is still at work today.
He is! I give Him all the glory. Praise His Name.
