Booking conditions

These conditions explain our obligations to you and your responsibilities to us when you make a reservation at Green Pastures. They have been written to safeguard your well-being, that of other guests, and of Green Pastures itself. Please read them carefully before you confirm your booking to avoid any unpleasant surprises later.

Acceptance of these terms and conditions
Payment of your final account will be taken as indicating your acceptance of the terms and conditions listed below.

Provisional booking
When you contact Green Pastures, your reservation remains provisional until the booking fee has been received. This can be made using our on-line booking form, or by downloading and completing the booking form. Provisional bookings are held for two weeks from the date of your enquiry, and then cancelled.

Typical bedroomBooking Fee
This is either: the full payment (if your stay will cost under £100, or you are booking less than two weeks before your stay begins), or £50 per person per week. The booking fee will be deducted from your final account.

Total Cost
The final cost of your stay will be calculated on the price as published at the time of your confirmed booking.

Final Payment
Full payment for your stay should be made at least 14 days prior to your arrival. We will send you a final invoice in good time.

Cancellation
If you unfortunately have to cancel your booking, the following payments must be made, depending on how much notice you give us:

More than four weeks before start of your stay: booking fee
2 to four weeks before the start of your stay: 50% of the full fee
Less than two weeks before the start of your stay: full fee

We strongly advise that you take out a cancellation policy to cover the overall cost of your stay should you have to cancel for any reason. We can refer you to a separate insurance company if you would like a recommendation.

Payment
We accept cash, cheques (supported by an appropriate banker's card), and all major credit and debit cards. Credit card payment can be made by telephone.

Single Occupancy of Double/Twin Rooms
For single guests occupying a double or twin room at their own request (if one is available), a £5.00 per night surcharge is made. If we upgrade guests no surcharge is payable.

Refunds
No refunds or reductions are made for accommodation and meals paid for and not taken.

Arrival and departure
Your room will be available by 3.00pm on the day of your arrival. You are welcome to arrive earlier and use our facilities, if necessary. We can provide lunch on arrival day for a small extra charge.

Arrivals are normally before 6.00pm. If you cannot arrive before that time, please contact us.

Guests should vacate their rooms by 10.00am on the day of their departure to enable us to service them. However, you do not have to leave the house at this time, and you are welcome to use our public facilities for the rest of the day if you wish. You can also book lunch.

Damage and liability
Guests and visitors will be liable for the cost of repair or replacement of any damage caused to the buildings, grounds or property of Green Pastures for which they are personally responsible. Green Pastures is not liable for personal injury caused by the action of another guest, or for the loss of personal property.

Bedroom keys
A fee of £5.00 is charged for replacement bedroom keys; this will be refunded is the original key is subsequently found.

Towels
Hand towels are provided, but guests are requested to bring their own towels for use at the pool and beach.

Dietary requirements
We can cater for vegetarians and those who do not eat red meat, but cannot normally deal with any other special diet. We encourage guests to self-manage whenever possible and there is a small fridge on each floor to help with this. If you have other requirements, you must check with us well in advance of your stay; there may be a surcharge of £3 a day for any extra preparation time. Meals are prepared in a kitchen where nuts are used.

Packed Lunches
Please ask for these on the evening before. Also, if you are to be away for lunch or supper, we would appreciate
being told the night before, if possible.

Medication
If you take medication to help control your emotional or psychological well-being, or have serious mental health issues, we must be notified beforehand, for your own health and safety.

Swimming pool safety
There are no lifeguards on duty at the pool at any time. Guests are responsible for their own safety and the safety of other members of their party. The maximum depth of the pool is 6' (2m).

Pets
Only guide dogs and hearing dogs are allowed on the premises.

Smoking
No smoking is allowed in or near the house.

Alcohol
Green Pastures is a “dry house”, and alcohol is neither available nor encouraged on the premises.

Car Parking
Cars are parked at their owner’s risk.

Bursary
In exceptional circumstances we may be able to make a bursary grant. Applications for this must be made in writing to the Pastoral Director in advance. Retrospective grants cannot be made.

Counselling
We are usually able to offer counselling or spiritual direction to those guests who wish it, provided that they book in advance, otherwise we cannot guarantee one-to-one time. There is a charge for this service. Please check before booking.

No counselling is available at weekends or during special retreats.
