Events at Green Pastures

Here is a list of the events currently planned for 2010, and we are sure there is something here which will be helpful to you. Other events will certainly be added as the year progresses, so please come back and visit this page regularly.

In addition to the special events listed below, we also have a number of regular activities, and guests are, of course, welcomed at Green Pastures at any time, subject to accommodation being available.

For further details and brochures, please contact us.

To whet your appetite, do read what David Huggett, one of our trustees, has to say about Still personal and group retreats, which contains the testimony of someone who experienced this at first hand.

You can also read an interview with Joyce and David Huggett on the value of retreats.

Events for 2010

Joint induction service : 6 March, 2.00pm at West Cliff Baptist Church
This will be a significant day in the history of Green Pastures when Rev. Les Judd will be inducted as Chaplain, and Andy Challis will be inducted as Centre Manager.

It's an important day which we are really looking forward to - and we would love you to join with us to celebrate! Click now to see your invitation...

Music to Meditate by : 12-14 March (from £165)
Charles Timberlake is a composer and performer of reflective, inspirational piano music, in the style of Margaret Rizza. His music is like soothing balm and this will be especially helpful for those who are struggling with enormous stress or loss of some kind. A weekend of quiet contemplation and meditation will sooth and quieten your spirit. Allow your heart to be moved… be calmed… be inspired… be uplifted…

Free to be me : 16-19 March (from £200)
Led by Marilyn Baker and Tracy Williamson will lead this Spring retreat on the theme of having the freedom to be ourselves. We are all unique in God's sight, but sometimes we feel we have to conform to what people expect of us - but God wants us to be the individuals He created us to be.

Myers Briggs Personality Type workshop : 26-28 March
Led by Jane Gibbs. If you're puzzled about why people behave strangely, or why some ways of praying don't seem to suit you, then this workshop could be for you. Discover your personality and the way God created you to be, and be liberated - it might be life-changing! And it will be fun, too.

Easter Encounter : 1-6 April
Led by Tony Horsfall, an experienced and popular retreat leader based in Yorkshire. During this retreat we will look at Easter from three different perspectives: the foreshadowing in the Old Testament, the narratives of the Gospels, and the explanation in the Epistles. Take time out over this important season to hear once again of the love of God, the reality of foregiveness, the power of the cross and the call to surrender our lives afresh to the Lord Jesus.

Leadership Retreat : 7-9 April
Led by Tony Horsfall. A rare opportunity for those in leadership to spend quality time concentrating on their personal relationship with God. Times of quiet worship, scriptural teaching and personal reflection are the hallmarks of this retreat. for those who want it, spiritual accompaniment will be available.

Prophetic School : 7-9 May
Led by David Betts. Want to hear God more clearly? This weekend will help you to receive, evaluate, interpret and appropriately apply prophetic revelation for ourselves and others, both through teaching and practical times of waiting on God and ministering to others.

God’s peace in a busy world : 28-30 May
Led by Pamela Howarth

Beauty for Ashes : 17-20 September
Led by Jennifer Rees Larcombe

Creative Listening and Intimacy with God : 26-29 October
Led by Marilyn Baker and Tracy Williamson.
