Personal counselling
An experienced counsellor can help you to find your way through a difficult time or confusing situation. They do not try to offer advice and solutions, but to be a sympathetic guide, offering ways to enable you to identify and work through emotional, physical and moral problems.
One-to-one counselling should to be booked at least two weeks in advance. This is not usually available at weekends but we may be able to make arrangements with an external counsellor or spiritual director known to us. The cost of this would be approximately £20-30.
Pastoral care
In keeping with our objective of providing the resources to enable our guests to regain a balance and vitality in their lives, we can suggest a variety of activities and therapies which will help to achieve this. During the course of your stay we will review this with you at regular intervals.

Spiritual guidance
The value of this ancient tradition has recently been re-discovered by the Christian church. It is a means of helping to develop and grow one's spiritual well-being by offering suggestions about areas for study, prayer, meditation and possibly changes of lifestyle. It is not coercive or prescriptive; rather, it is the process of one pilgrim helping another to find a better path.
Massage
Gentle massage can help to improve a variety of systems within our blood, and also counters the effects of stress and tension. Our trained therapists will devise a programme of treatment specially to meet your particular needs.
